Dear
Welcome to the 2021 Alfen Magazine!
To celebrate our 5th edition and the 10-year anniversary of our energy storage business, we have made this a special edition, with more partner and customer interviews than ever before. We also asked some of our own people to contribute their personal perspectives on energy transition.
The last twelve months have been exceptionally challenging, with so many people and businesses seriously impacted by the pandemic. As a result, it seems only right to start by sending best wishes to you all. We sincerely hope that you, your families and colleagues have all managed to weather this storm as healthily and as positively as possible because that is what matters most.
We consider ourselves to have been very lucky over the last year. Despite the pandemic, we have been able to grow our business with customers and partners. By working closely together (while apart) we have made further steps towards a sustainable energy future.
Never has the need to step up the pace seemed quite so compelling as it does right now. With global events as a backdrop, the latest IPCC report setting out the urgency and November’s United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) providing an opportunity, it really does feel like the time for massive change is now.
The good news is that things really are already moving fast in many places. Everywhere we look, organisations big and small are focused on driving and embedding sustainability. Solutions for this are increasingly smart and more connected with data, digitalisation and decentralisation as driving factors and the customer stories in this magazine very much reflect that.
We hope that you enjoy reading them and look forward to continuing to work with you to create the stories of the future.
Best wishes for a healthy and fruitful year.
Warm regards,
Marco Roeleveld
